About the Event

 What is our goal?

We'll be camping at a group site in the park. Saturday morning we'll split into two groups for cave tours prior to lunch. After lunch we'll be giving back to the community by working on a service project for the park service (TBD, more details to come). Weather/time dependent, we'll also check out some of the trails the park has to offer and maybe some stargazing as well.

Where is the outing?

Kartchner Cavers State Park 2980 S Hwy 90 Benson, AZ 85602

What do we bring?

Please pack accordingly, check weather beforehand. Troop will be camping Friday and Saturday night.  Patrols will cook as a group and will need to bring their chuck box.

1. Scout 10 essentials

2. Sleeping bag and pad

3. Tent (Scouts share a tent)

4. Water, two quarts per person

5. Daypack

How do we get there?

SEATS - We will need enough seats for all the Scouts. We will be traveling on forest roads and smaller or lower riding vehicles may have trouble.

GAS MONEY - All passengers not riding with their own parents need to have $20 gas money. We will check money at the parking lot. Passengers are to hand the gas money to their drivers before we leave the parking lot.

What will we eat?

SCOUT MEALS - All scouts are to cook and eat as patrols.  Remember to plan meals and assign a grubmaster for each patrol to get food.

ADULT MEALS - Adults need to pack a sack lunch for Saturday, but the rest of the meals (breakfast, dinner, light breakfast) will be provided. Please bring $10 to cover these three meals. ***If you don't register, we might not have enough food for you. Register now!

Additional Notes
