March Backpacker - Fossil Springs

Hello Troop 109,

We are planning an exciting backpacking trip to Fossil Springs. This is a one night trip.  We will leave early Saturday morning to make sure we get parking spots at the trailhead. The hike is 4 miles to the springs. There are multiple swimming holes along the creek and springs. Please pack light. Stick to the Scouting 10 Essentials and build from there bringing only what you need.  The hike has 1,369 feet elevation change going into the canyon to the campsite.  

Please join us for our backpacker prep meeting Monday, March 9. We’ll hold a parent meeting to go over essentials for first timers. Scouts plan to show what they take and how they pack.
