Details
This is a two night outing. We will be going back Saturday morning to the Superstition Mountains just east of Phoenix. From the parking area, we will head out on this 6.6 mile loop trail and make camp in the wilderness.
MEET: At the church parking lot, SATURDAY MORNING at 8:00 AM, depart by 8:30 AM
BRING:
1. $5 gas money for your driver
2. Backpack, tent, sleeping bag, light jacket, a few layers of clothing, headlamp, first aid kit, Jetboil or other way to heat water for meals, hat, sunscreen, class B shirt, good hiking shoes.
3. WATER: There will be no water on the trail. Each backpacker needs to have a minimum of 6 Nalgenes worth of water. That’s a minimum of ONE AND A HALF GALLONS. Be prepared to show the SPL you have at least 1.5 gallons of water at the parking lot. Only scouts and adults who have the minimum amount of water will be allowed on the outing.
4. Food – Bring backpacking meals for Saturday night dinner, Sunday breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Monday breakfast (I recommend Mountain House brand – don’t forget the spoon!).
Drivers: Google Maps says this is a 1 hour drive. Super close and easy.
Weather: Don't know yet. Probably cool during day and chilly at night.
See you at the church!
