About the Event
TRIP DETAILS: - Meet at 7:00 AM for 7:30 AM departure from North Scottsdale United Methodist Church - 11735 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. The plan is to meet at the parking lot of Badger Springs at 8:30 AM and hike from there.

- Backpacker will be 4 Miles RT. Lee will be leading the hike. The hike to the campsite will be two miles in and we will be near the water hole and we will see petroglyphs along the way.

- There is a watering hole if you want to bring swim suits and water shoes. Water may be cold.
BRING: $5 gas money for your driver
GEAR: Backpack, tent, sleeping bag, light jacket, a few layers of clothing, headlamp, first aid kit, Jet-boil & fuel or other way to heat water for meals, hat, sunscreen, class B shirt, good hiking shoes. Pack what you will need and can comfortably carry. *If a Scout does not have a one man tent, a tent buddy should be assigned and they should share the load of carrying the tent.
WATER: There will be no water on the trail. Each backpacker needs to have a minimum of 4 Nalgenes worth of water. That’s a minimum of ONE GALLON. Be prepared to show the SPL you have at least a gallon of water at the parking lot. Only scouts and adults who have the minimum amount of water will be allowed on the outing.
FOOD: Each Scout and Adult is responsible for bringing their own food. Bring a trail lunch (sandwich, snacks drink, etc.), backpacking meal for Saturday night dinner (Mountain House, etc. - don’t forget the spoon!) and a light breakfast (bagels/cream cheese, oatmeal, granola bars, apple, etc.).
TRASH: Bring a bag. Each Scout and Adult will be responsible for carrying his/her own trash out.
