About the event
Kennedy Ranch Outing
Hello Troop 109,
I have been working hard to confirm the details for the backpacker. The Haunted Canyon trail is not in good shape. I’m also not able to confirm we can get the road to the trailhead opened by next Friday. I’m not confident this will be the best option and we will be changing the outing this month to Kennedy Ranch. We plan to do a day hike in the morning and scouting skills competition in the afternoon. This will be a car camping trip. We will plan to move the backpacking trip in April.
Apologies for the late change. I want to ensure our scouts are safe and have a great adventure and the Haunted Canyon trail was not looking good.

WHERE IS THE OUTING?
Kennedy Ranch in the Superstition Wilderness Area
The campground is on the back side of Pinto Valley Mine. The road going through the mine can be confusing and is best navigated using GPS on your phone. Forest Road 278A leads out of the mine and ends at Kennedy Ranch.
